Chestertown Preschool Teacher/Center Director

This job is located right off of I87 at the North Warren Central School in Chestertown.

Qualifications: BA in Early Childhood Education or related field and experience working with children from 3 to 5 years of age. A minimum of one year teaching experience and one year of supervising staff. $17.75/hr

Position Overview: The teacher is the lead educator in the classroom and is responsible for curriculum planning, record keeping, report writing, and administering of screenings and assessments.

  • Responsible for planning experiences and activities that are developmentally appropriate, individualized and consistent with designated curriculum.
  • Engages in high quality staff to child interaction and staff to staff interactions
  • Encourages parent participation in all aspects of the program
  • Uses authentic assessment techniques, including anecdotal notes, to plan for individual children

Glens Falls Center Director

This job is located at 11 Pearl Street in Glens Falls.

Position Overview: Center Director responsibilities include ensuring a smooth operation of the center (1 classroom), overseeing day to day operations and staff ratios.

  • Responsible for seeing that all facilities and equipment are in operating order and in safe condition. *Routinely inspects center facilities for safety and occupancy violations and takes necessary corrective actions 
  • Ensures developmentally appropriate practice is being followed throughout day to day operations. 
  • Keeps Executive Director and/or Service Area Coordinators informed of any problems or concerns in regards to program, staff and facilities
  • Assists in the orientation and training of staff as requested by the Executive Director and Service Area Coordinators.

Preschool Teacher

Qualifications: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field.

Assistant Preschool Teacher

Qualifications: Child Development Associate (CDA), Associate’s Degree.

Position Overview: The Assistant Teacher is a support to the lead Teacher in the classroom.  The position requires assisting with planning classroom activities and maintaining documentation.  It is expected that the Assistant Teacher work with small groups of children and take over for the teacher on a short-term basis if needed. $14.20/hr.

  • Assists the teacher in daily operation of classroom 
  • Is responsible for maintaining classroom routines and activities in absence of Teacher 
  • Assists teacher in maintaining child and family information systems through designated technology programs 
  • Uses authentic assessment techniques, including anecdotal notes, to plan for individual children
  • Is responsible for all recordkeeping, including attendance, meal counts, and other documentation as required

Home Based Visitor

Qualifications: Home Based CDA Credential or Associates degree in Early Childhood or related field. Active driver’s license

Position Overview: Works in the home with the parents to plan and provide enriching educational and social learning experiences.  Provides family support through goal planning and referral. $15.63/hr.

  • Conduct weekly 90-minute home visits to young children and their families and encourages joint planning for each child
  • Carry out curriculum for child development in the context of the home and during play group experiences
  • Collaborate with families to establish family development goals, and document this collaborative process in family partnership agreements 
  • Monitor and educate parents with respect to children’s health status, including medical follow-up, physical health, dental health, mental health, and nutritional intake
  • Establishes working relationships with local health providers, dental providers and community partners 

Warrensburg Preschool Teacher

This job is located right on 1 James Street at the Warrensburg Elementary School in Warrensburg.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field. $17.51/hr.

Classroom Aide

Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED, valid drivers license, transportation and a willingness to travel to all Warren County Head Start centers . Position Overview: A  Classroom aide is responsible for cleaning and assistance in the classroom. It is expected that the Classroom Aide participate in classroom activities and interact with the children. The Classroom Aide will be responsible for small groups of children throughout the day. Location varies on need of the agency

  • Follows direction given by teacher in accordance with established routine
  • Performs tasks in classroom including working with small groups or individual children as required by teacher.
  • Is responsible for set up and clean up at mealtimes; completes required meal documentation 
  • Communicates respectfully and effectively with all staff and promotes teamwork 

 

Substitute Classroom Aide 

This would be a per diem job that would assist our agency (6 locations: Glens Falls, Queensbury, SUNY Adirondack, Chestertown, Warrensburg, Lake Luzerne) with staff absences.

Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED, valid drivers license, and willingness to travel to other Warren County Head Start centers when required. $13.20/hour.

Position Overview:  A Substitute Classroom Aide is responsible for cleaning and assistance in the classroom. It is expected that the Classroom Aide participate in classroom activities and interact with the children. The Classroom Aide will be responsible for small groups of children throughout the day.
